Cleaning ForeverWare pans: Be brutal!
over 2 years ago – Mon, Nov 15, 2021 at 07:12:21 AM

With the skillet now being used by more and more folks every day, we've gotten a few emails about cleaning. A few mention spots or dark areas and so forth on the surface. So, we thought a frank statement about cleaning the pan was in order.

Welcome to the world of Stainless Cast Iron… where the idea is to be fast and rough with the cleaning process.

Unlike with seasoned cast iron, here you are intentionally fast and aggressive — abusive, brutal even, in cleaning. The product is essentially indestructible.

We use Comet or Ajax powdered cleanser along with the most extreme abrasive grade of Scotch Brite pad we can find. But first, we scrape any stuck on or built up crud off the pan with a stainless steel spatula or scraper.

After cheesy eggs, for instance, I run some water in the pan, grab a stainless steel spatula and briskly give the inside a scrape, shake on some cleansing powder, and scrub it quickly with the Scotch Brite pad, and poof... it’s clean.

Note it takes as long to write the process description as it does to do it in the sink. It’s just a quick 20 or 30 seconds of seriously aggressive scrubbing.

Again… be aggressive… be brutal. Use harsh tools and materials that you would never, ever normally think to use on cookware, and scrub it quickly back to bare metal after each use. Here’s a pic of my own personal 12-inch pan that my wife and I have used literally every day for over six months — so, over 150 usages — scrubbing quickly as above after each use.

Now Shipping!
over 2 years ago – Wed, Nov 03, 2021 at 08:45:22 PM

Our skillets come bulk packaged from the factory, and we then have to open, inspect, and put them in the consumer packaging here. That said, we got 40 pieces shipped today, and will get another 100+ shipped tomorrow, and the balance shipped on Friday. We will begin sending tracking emails tomorrow.

When you receive your 9-inch breakfast skillet, we'd appreciate hearing from you how you like it. :-)

As always... thanks to all of you for your support!

Skillets Are In Nashville!
over 2 years ago – Sun, Oct 24, 2021 at 10:02:08 PM

Just a quick note to let you know the skillets are in Nashville, have cleared customs, and are waiting only for a truck company to schedule moving them from the airport to our warehouse. Yay! :-)

Track the inbound shipment along with us.

We get it. There are deadbeat campaigners on Kickstarter that make everybody nervous and  quick to suspect foul play. And, yes, we are late, and we are getting a growing number of emails and notes from skeptical, concerned backers.

Here is reality. We're a group determined to revolutionize the cast iron cookware category over the coming year or so, starting with a couple of good campaigns here on Kickstarter. If any backers are nervous, understand that we are right there with you — frustrated as hell at the crazy situation with cargo freight from Asia. It's thrown all of our plans sideways.

So, here is exactly what we know. China factories are on National Day holiday all week, so we have nobody to check with. We were given an airway bill tracking number before they all left. Here it is: 001-54989675

Anybody can go to an AWB tracking system site and see the same information about our shipment that we can see. Here is a good one.  Just type in the tracking number and hit return — like we have been doing many times per day for two weeks.

When the shipment hits the Nashville airport, we will leap into high gear to get it released, unpacked, and rewards shipped out to backers.

Again... We're super sorry for the delays. But, in all truth, we didn't cause any of them. And, we're just as irritated and frustrated as any of you might be with the situation.

Hang with us. We'll get these rewards fulfilled as soon as we have control of our products. And, we'll be more cautious about the shipping estimate on the upcoming 12-inch skillet campaign.

Thanks to every one of you for helping us get ForeverWare off the ground!

ForeverWare backer: You MUST send us your shipping info!!!
over 2 years ago – Tue, Sep 28, 2021 at 08:53:03 AM

102 of you have a major problem! 102 of you have not completed your post-campaign survey and given us your shipping address!

Reality: If you do not reply to our (many, many) survey emails asking for your shipping address, WE CANNOT SHIP YOUR REWARD.

Please. If you have not answered your survey email, go back and search your emails for "foreverware" or "backerkit" to find it, then immediately click through to our system and provide your missing information.

We are preparing to ship out your rewards skillets — packaging, printed mail labels, etc.

It is time right now to do this. Please!

Again, it's simple: No address. No skillet.

Thanks!
